After doing some research after ordering it says it's machine safe but when I checked to see if I could wash it at home or in the should bring cleaning, they offered to take it to the laundry. When it arrived I went to the nearest laundry and washed and dried it there. When I got home I checked the entire duvet and found it was fine. I ended up using it that night and it usually takes me a while to fall asleep. I fell asleep almost immediately with this blanket. I really needed help putting it on my bed because even though I ordered a 20lb duvet there is still some weight. When I covered this blanket for the first time, the weight surprised me because I'm not used to something like that from myself. But after a few minutes I felt myself falling asleep. I'm usually a light sleeper, but the first night I used this duvet was the best night's sleep I've had in a long time. I felt nice and warm all night, but with this blanket I wake up completely rested, and that's only 6-7 hours of sleep some nights. Look at your weight and then compare it to the weight of the blanket. This blanket is just great. I wash it in the laundry once a week and it still looks like the first day I got it.
