My 9 inch iPad frame is pretty light, but if it were heavy it would press the suction cup against the dashboard. with strong suction power. Once the iPad is in place, I don't feel any tendency for anything to come loose or fall off. It feels very secure, even with vibrations and bumps while driving. I don't use a horizontal blind mount as I have one. My car is a 2014 Toyota Corolla. The only thing that bothers me is that it's inconvenient to hook the frame on my hand when the iPad is in the frame, but that Adding the iPad after I hook the frame is also inconvenient. as without the weight of the iPad it tends to fall off the hook. So I put the iPad in the frame first, just taking my time to line up the hooks with the holes. Then it looks really solid. Makes a big difference for use as a GPS. Overall I am very happy with the product for the price.
