Review on Exquisite Insect πŸ¦‹ Display: Acrylic Entomology Specimen Showpiece by Joshua Castillo

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Plastic lid, no jar, quality matches price

I bought it mainly for decorative display of insects, not for scientific purposes. Good quality foam, cleats too. The wood is light (probably balsa) and tinted black, so you need to prevent black smudges from getting onto the display. The box is not built like a typical entomological display case or cut to have a fitting lid, but cut through. The hinges are a bit flimsy, but I don't plan on opening it again. I might even seal it since the lid isn't installed (it's decorative, but I still don't want my patterns and display to get dirty or decompose). What really bothers me is that the description says the lid is a clear glass top. It's not glass, it's thick plastic, it's scratched and attached to the lid like a picture frame. You get what you pay for and I'll make it work. I'm just going to cut my piece of glass and attach it to it. I think this would work as a jewelry box rather than an entomological display. I'm sure it would be good for kids who are just learning about or trying out insects, but not for those who are serious. Next time I will set aside extra money for a professionally assembled case.

Pros
  • Combination Products: Insect needles packaged in a strong and secure hard plastic bottle for easy access, efficient organization and storage; The display case is designed for displaying and displaying objects with a glass mirror that can beautifully display a collection of insects and plants
Cons
  • Very expensive
