Review on Sportiva Mutant Apple Green Carbon Men's Shoes by Adam Gardner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Yellow Mutant - So far so good.

I've been wearing Salomon for about 10 years. I'm walking and street walking, I participate in both. But it was time for a change, after reading reviews and consulting with other runners I took the plunge and switched to La Sortiva Mutant; I'm so happy I did. Fit: I'm UK 9.5 and sometimes have trouble getting the fit I want, I have skinny legs, not with these, they are perfect. They match the heels like Salomon. Good and secure heel and good support on the sides. Salomon is very tight on the toes, the Mutant has a little more room but not so wide that the toes tap. I usually get hot spots on my toes after my first run in new shoes, but not with these. Traction: They are better than the Salomon and gave me confidence in mud and wet grass; it goes up and down. Mountain/Road Running: Not suitable for road use unless running short distances and only running occasionally. Definitely for off-road, trails, hills and dirt; Great! Appearance: Not as cool as Salomon, but still pretty smart. I have yellow/green ones. Recommendation: I definitely recommend these shoes, I ordered a second pair as I walk a lot. My wife now has a pair too.

Pros
  • Ottima Scarpa, Leggera and Traspirante.
Cons
  • Higher price than other trail running shoe options.
