I use them to melt and serve melted butter. I usually cut 2 tablespoons off a standard stick of butter and unwrap it. The cut end of a standard square butter stick fits perfectly in one of these containers. After melting two tablespoons, there is a lot of free space at the top. It's great for two waffles (in my case, along with Vermont Sugar-Free Maple Syrup). The spout helps to pour the oil without many drips down the sides of the container. These are great little containers. They are absolutely smooth and round on the inside. They get super clean in the dishwasher. Not stackable, but I don't care. They feel thick and really hard. Great for a small amount of anything like cream, syrup, salad dressing, melted butter, sauces, etc.
