I have never tried such good headphones in my life

I have never tried such good headphones in my life. I hesitated as some reviews said these cans were too "warm" or bass heavy if I got it right. I tend towards the m40x, which is described as "flatter" sounding. But everyone who praised the 40s more had a line at the end of their review that said something like "don't get me wrong. m50x still sounds great" and it seems after testing. The bass got to me and without the equalizer everything sounded just right. I paired this with an additional 2nd gen Fiio x3 and the audio can be loud enough to making my ears bleed without sacrificing quality.I didn't realize FLAC files sounded much better than MP3s until I had this setup.I'm deducting a star as the workmanship and materials don't match the price. This quality should are in the m40x price range, not a $150 product. It's also uncomfortable and I have to spend more on ear cushions to improve their comfort. The included case is sturdy and super protective, but doesn't take advantage of the earbuds' space-saving folding design. Edit: I bought replacement ear pads for about $22 and it's so comfortable now.The pads (made of velor) also improved the acoustics and manipulated the details to a very crisp level . I believe leather ear pads will have a different effect, so I'll buy a pair and compare later. After this update, I would recommend buyers to consider that these headphones require a budget of $170, not $150, not just $150, and compare their choice based on that. It's still great sound and a fantastic experience regardless of the overall cost.
