This gives 5 stars for holding the phone in portrait mode. The slim iPhone XR fits like a glove and slides in and out easily. It automatically locks the phone and simply lifting the phone releases the mount. It feels well made and has a strong hold. The vent mount is more of a snag than the typical compression style that will loosen over time. Unfortunately, this doesn't hold the phone in landscape mode at all. If the mount is on the side, the phone will fly out as soon as you turn right. - Bottom line, if all you want is a portrait phone holder, get this one. This is one of the best I've used.
