I love the fit of these pants! I've been hiking a lot the past few years and have lost a lot of the bulk of my rear end which means pants are often loose on me. I ordered a size Medium (I'm 5'3" and about 132 pounds) and these pants fit snugly around the waist with the included waist band which can be tightened as needed. There are 2 side pockets - 1 on either side of the front - and both have zippered pockets, keeping items secure. (There are no back pockets.) These pants feel smooth and comfortable on. Since I normally fall into the 'petite' category although I'm long-legged for my height, the bottom of the pant legs fall to just above my feet so they are just right for me. If needed for water crossing, these pant legs can be pulled up. With some manipulation, I can push/roll them under and with the spandex in the fabric, they can serve as 'shorts' that fall a bit before my knees. When I do this, they feel tight enough that I don't want to try to wear them as shorts but will work for crossing streams and such. My rating is 5 stars. These pants are machine washable in cold water and can be machine dried on the low cycle.
