So I gave it 5 stars because to be honest with you for the price and how sturdy it is - it's perfect. I was looking for something to match the white and pink colors in my office to put under my desk. I just needed a small shelf (for my work laptop, docking station, and router) and wanted something with a bit of storage for the odds and ends that I use during the week but didn't want to keep on my desk. It's really cute and functional. The two pieces of shelf are much stronger than I expected, especially for the money I paid for them. The same applies to the metal railings on the side. It wasn't difficult to assemble - I did it myself in 15 minutes. The only issue that blew my mind for just a second was a minor typo in the instructions - in the main parts list and picture the screws are listed as part of H and G (H is a medium pointed screw and G is a long flat screw screw end) But in the right corner of the picture G is shown as pointed end and H as flat end. This confused me for a second but as soon as I compared the parts list to the main image I got it. But thought I'd point that out in the pictures - just in case anyone is as confused as I am lol. This is a great little sturdy shelf, especially for the price.
