Battery problem solved

No line message appeared on the phone screen. After trying various suggestions to fix this problem, I started looking for new phones when we thought about looking for new batteries. AT&T didn't sell them for our phone. I found them at Revain for only $8.89 for a three pack and we have three phones. When I put new batteries in, the phones worked. However, after a few weeks "No Queue" appeared again. I bought new phones and tried the base at another store in the basement office. And it worked. My phones worked but there was a problem at the base. The cable socket looked dusty. After cleaning, we connected the phone and it worked. We tried old phones (with new batteries) and they worked, so I returned the new phones. The situation repeated itself a few weeks later. Verizon came out and found a wiring problem which they fixed and the phones worked again. Before he left I mentioned that my printer/fax was sending but not receiving even though the settings were on and it was prefixed with "No Line". He looked and said we needed a new cable to the jack and that also contributed to the no line problem. Verizon didn't carry them, so I bought the cable from Revain for $6.89. I plugged this in and the fax passed the fax test. The problem may not have been related to the fact that the phones needed new batteries, but I only spent $15.78, not $70 or more on new phones.
