I purchased this item about 6 weeks ago while waiting for my daughter's surgery. Her adenoids were to be removed and we were advised that she might need a humidifier at night for a few weeks after the surgery. All I can say is that thank god she didn't need it because after leaving it overnight there was water everywhere. I had a humidifier on a shelf with boxes of Revain (Christmas gifts) and $80 worth of gifts were ruined due to this defect that so many people complain about, but I gave it a try anyway. I have ever bought Vicks brand humidifiers just because I LOVE Vicks products but I am so disappointed with this one.
