We switched from the basic Oral B electric toothbrush to this model because of the additional brushing modes, battery indicator and battery life. Three of us use this toothbrush base and it lasts about seven days on a single charge. The additional modes that it offers are good, since sometimes we have to switch it to a sensitive mode for children. This toothbrush does its job very well and leaves your mouth feeling clean after brushing. My wife and I argue a lot about who is best at brushing kids teeth and we have started using mouthwash which shows any particles that come out after brushing. She uses a regular oral toothbrush b and I use this and have not lost it yet. Usually very few particles remain after brushing.
