later This roll of luggage strap, like most pre-made straps, is made of durable polyester. Clips and buckles are made of durable plastic. They're as strong as anything I've seen except metal. We had to pack items that weren't suitcases and didn't want to cut the finished straps to fit our needs. This kit is perfect. Despite the strength, the tape can be easily cut with good household scissors. Once cut to length, the strap is threaded through the clip, then through the buckle and back into the clip to hold it at the desired length. In our case we cut the parts to fit the rolled up fabric side walls of the show tent. The tent poles and canopy have their own pocket, but the four side walls easily fold up separately. We made these straps to hold the rolled up sidewalls and store them in a case to keep everything together. They do their job perfectly.
