Check everything when it arrives. So my ladder arrived yesterday. Tried this ladder today. I hopped around a bit to make sure the base was stable. I was shocked when my foot suddenly fell off, the next 2 steps did the same. Luckily I wasn't quite under the edge and was able to climb back up. Looking up the ladder I saw where the steps began to diverge on either side due to the rope running through them. I'm not a small person, 6ft 1in, 250lbs and this ladder has to support 2000lbs. My guess is that if 10 little people stepped onto separate steps and lightly kicked it could work. What if it was your (full-size) mother or grandmother who escaped a 4th floor fire? This product poses a safety hazard. Ease of use (5 stars) and lightness (5 stars) mean nothing if the ladder fails (1 star) and you fall 30 feet.
