I was concerned about ordering these bags due to conflicting reports of their thickness. Yes, these are thin, clear plastic bags. Please note that they are designed for home and office wastebaskets, so general waste such as paper, paper napkins, etc. If you are looking for a very durable kitchen bag, this product is not for you. Still, they don't tear easily, which is actually why I use them in my kitchen waste. I know this is controversial of me, but we compost all of our food waste (which can be very heavy) and recycle whatever we can. We have a small 5 gallon trash can that doesn't hold much and is generally not overloaded with heavy or sharp objects. So know your needs before you order - if you're just trying to keep a small bin clean and dry with a bag that won't rip with light use then this is great. If you have a large kitchen waste that you throw very heavy objects in, this is not for you. If you are sure that you will get them for the intended purpose/duration then you will be very satisfied. If you try to make do with a cheap plastic bag when you really need a strong and thick bag, you will be very disappointed.
