Review on Improved SEO: Timken SP450702 Axle Bearing & Hub Assembly by Jesse Blair

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not as smooth as expected.

I ended up getting a $130 Timken hub because both of the $86 GMBs I ordered initially were damaged before they shipped through Revain. The Timken looks and features identical to the GMB and 2006 Nissan Frontier OEM. I tested the TIMKEN JRM4500-SC in an old jack after removing the locking cap. The reason for only 4 stars is that I could feel the bearing rollers go through the rails by turning them manually. The GMB hub was absolutely smooth and had just the right amount of drag given the cold lubrication. I installed the Timken anyway and didn't notice any noise or harshness with the wheel installed. As for the hub assembly replacement, which is "very easy". That is, until you realize you don't have pipe to extend the 1/2" ratchet to loosen the 4 bolts at the back. Or you may find that the brake work needs to be completed in about a year when you remove the front wheel.
