I don't think the included infusion for making tea is useful. This only seems useful when pouring large chunks of fruit or similar as the holes are quite large. When used with another brewer I found it very useful for cold brewing iced tea. Can't comment on durability as I haven't dropped it yet, but I think it's worth the cost even if I break it once every few months. don't drink from plastic.
