"The new model of this product is NOT available " .

I originally wanted to buy the Anker 8-in-1 USB 3.0 Portable Card Reader from this link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006T9B6R2/ but I have this below noticed it said "A newer model of this product is available" which led me to this point. The problem is that the item in the original link was a USB 3.0 connection and this product is a USB-C connection which is much smaller than USB 3.0 so it is NOT a newer model of an old product it is a different product altogether. I bought it thinking I could use it on my desktop computer to read memory cards from my cameras, but when it finally arrived I noticed that it didn't have a standard USB connection, rather than a smaller USB -C connection which you usually see on some phones so it's basically useless to me. Some other things I also didn't like are that it doesn't have a cover to keep dust or dirt out when it's in your pocket, there is no cover or guard to protect the memory card slots from dust/dirt, and it has nothing to hang it from a strap or keychain. Pros--------+ The aluminium/metal finish looks very nice.+ Normally, Anker makes good products.+ The packaging was very clean and simple. C) I ordered it thinking it would be a regular USB 3.0 card reader and was disappointed when it arrived and didn't work on my desktop - It doesn't come with a USB 3.0 adapter - It comes without a protective cap - It has no protection for memory card inserts, so the ports will be full of lint, dust, and dirt when you put it in your pocket - It doesn't have a way to hang a strap for things like a keychain or necklace. rd, after reading tons of reviews and being shocked that Revain lied to me about a "newer model" with a different connection type, I decided to just buy the Anker USB 3.0 card reader that I originally intended to buy. and brings back USB-C, which Revane says is a newer model of the USB 3.0 version. I've looked at other card readers but they all had bad reviews about messing up transferred files (other brands) and other brands also had complaints about them not working after a few uses so I'll just stick with Anker which isn't that case is have them. has not disappointed me yet and it is a reliable brand. As for my complaints that this card reader doesn't have a cover or anything to protect it from dust, lint or dirt, or even a keychain slot, the solution I found was that I bought a small hard case for storage. Lay it down so that it does not collect dirt, dust or lint.
