25 miles in. not bad!

I have several pairs of well-known brands (Fizik, Giro, Lake, etc.). I needed cheap shoes for short trips so as not to chafe my "good" shoes. So I bought them and took them for a short trip (25 miles). I'm impressed with their price. They are noticeably lighter than my brand of ratchet strap shoes. The BOA style system on them isn't as accurate as real BOAs, but that's not a bad thing. A minus is a one-way system. If you need to solve it, you have to let go and start over. Otherwise, the only negative thing I noticed was that they are not as stiff as my other shoes. If you race or aim for a KOM, this is not for you. However, if you are an inexperienced rider or maybe a beginner looking to try clips for the first time, this is great. As for sizing, I ordered them the same size as my other shoes. They fit well but can run a little small. Some reviewers using the two-bolt cleat system have reported durability issues. Due to the flex of the outsole, I wouldn't trust them with 2-screw cleats. How durable are they with the 3 bolt spike? Only time will tell but if I live with them for a few years I will be happy with them for the price paid.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of style
