I have owned and used this product for about a year. It has some very big issues, but if you can work around them, you'll be fine. There is nothing magical about this product, everything is a digital TV tuner. I bought it to use with a cheap projector to watch OTA (Over The Air) broadcasts outside on my patio. If you have an old Kinescope TV that stopped working when OTA went digital, you can use that on that too. I had one and it gave the best picture I have ever seen. It even worked on an old 9 inch black and white monitor that I keep just in case. Let's start with the pros: 1) Good picture. 2) There are all outputs, you can buy adapter cables to connect almost anything. Cons: 1) IR remote control and you have to point it directly at the device. 2) It gives off decent heat, don't cover it. 3) The problem with its inoperability was found in the plug on the back of the device. If it goes out, try fiddling with the cable. I was able to use a rubber band to pull the cord out of the way and that worked a bit. The problem is that the connector isn't very well soldered to the small circuit board inside and it comes loose. I had a friend who can cold solder, could reattach and now works like a champ. 4) The recording function was not used. 5) The user interface is very slow and when you try Changing channels too quickly creates issues that take longer to fix. Instead of going up and down, I open the list and go straight to the channel I want. 2) It gives off decent heat, don't cover it. 3) The problem with its inoperability was found in the plug on the back of the device.
