Review on πŸ”§ SpiritLED 100 Lots Strip Light Mounting Bracket Fixing Clip - Easy Installation with Screws (100, Hollow Distance 9mm) by Dan Toliver

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent product - the best solution for mounting LED strips.

Since you are reading this review I am assuming that you are considering purchasing these brackets for installing strip lights. I will tell you about my experience and tell you about it in detail. Short answer: yes, you should buy a set of these: they really work, look professional, and are relatively cheap. A longer answer...well...longer...but first, here's what was in the package. I actually had 101 of them, plus a few samples of their 10mm 2 and 4 wire connectors: (Figure 1 - 100 Spirit LED Holders with Pan Head Screws.) Shipping was excellent so I had to wait a week for shipping from china but they are in great shape now and i got most of it in just two days - very handy. Live, the brackets looked smaller than I imagined (because all the photos are zoomed in). The screws (round head), which fit perfectly into the holder, are smaller than my fat fingers are used to. (These could be #4 screws, which are pretty small.) But their small size is exactly what you want - it installs unobtrusively and gives them a cleaner, more professional look. It also means you can install them in an expensive closet without worrying about screws going through them or damaging things. I took a photo next to a US penny to allow for size comparison. (Figure 2 - Detail of SpiritLED mount and US penny screw for scale) (Figure 3 - Size comparison for Europeans who are unfamiliar with US currency) (If you are in Europe you will have bigger problems than currency conversion , but I've added 2 euros for your pleasure.) It allows you to precisely drill a pilot hole for each and screw it in, but highly recommended when attaching to a tree. You will notice that the carrier profile has a recess of approx. 0.5 mm depth. This is enough to clear the surface mount resistors on SMD light strips, but not enough to go through the LED chips themselves (which you don't want to accidentally do and block the light). (Figure 4. Bracket Profile) ) The end result is a clean, uncluttered appearance that requires only one screw per bracket. (Figure 5 - Clean, professional finish underneath SpiritLED cabinets.) Some people have complained that the bracket doesn't sit flush with the band (because the 0.5mm deep bracket cutout is deeper than the thin light band. That's true, and it actually works best if you tie it to a resistor as shown in the last photo. Otherwise, people have suggested using the end of the clamp to push the ribbon flush with the ribbon. This works for LED -Strips if you just want to more securely press the tape to that part of the tape but then it doesn't fit neatly and nicely If it's bent they are perfect for attaching light strips but useless as general purpose mounts That's it For now you don't have many options for good solutions for i install and this is by far the best most led strips come with 3M tape on the back however this is included in not hold back light in any situation other than on a smooth surface that never makes contact with the right side. Whether you want to mount them on a wall, under a closet, on a slant or anywhere else they can be pushed around, you need to mount them. The tape begins to sag and within minutes to hours falls off and looks awful. Duct tape is very handy for keeping the strip in place while you screw in the bracket and attach it to the wall or cabinet. and don't work), buy silicone clamps (they take up two screws, warp around the screws and don't look good), tape or loot over that and you'll regret it later. If you're mounting a light on a piece of wood (e.g. under a cabinet), SpiritLED mounts are your only good option at the moment.
