Review on ✨🚽 Mansfield M210 Plumb Pak Pp835-88 Water Saver Flush Valve: Efficient & Eco-Friendly Solution for Low-Flow Flushing by Rick Marie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The BEST thing about this type of flush valve is that .

I've used these flush valves in all three of my toilets for 24 years. During all this time, only fill valves were leaking, not these dump valves. Fill valves were NOT Mansfield devices. I've only replaced these flush valves once, just for repairs. The BEST thing about this type of flush valve is that the flush can be stopped mid-flush, preventing any possible overflow. If the bowl is about to overflow, which can usually happen when someone tries to flush a second time, all you have to do is turn the handle in the opposite direction to stop the flush. With a chain-actuated flapper valve, you're doomed to overflow - you won't be able to stop the flush unless you very quickly remove the reservoir cap and stick your hand in to shut the valve. Yes, YOU know what I'm talking about. This flush valve is designed for use with a longer stem handle that goes through a D-shaped hole on the side of the flush valve. There is no chain. Because of this, turning the handle in the opposite direction closes the valve and stops flushing. If using a Mansfield flush handle like this: 1/2 inch longer than a typical brass rod handle so it stays in the flush valve D-hole. The purge valve rotates counter-clockwise when the lever is pushed - as it should. But with a standard brass stem handle, flushing causes the valve to rotate from the shorter stem. I wouldn't use a chain hoist to open this flush valve because then you lose the ability to stop the flush. the nylon strap through one of the holes in the rod and around the D-shaped hole in the flush valve is loose, leaving mud. This keeps the valve from turning too much and keeps it on the brass stem. Works great. I don't use the flush handle on top (it was installed for about a month) because it's plastic and "gives" a bit with flushing. I think it will eventually break, so I installed a brass bar handle.
