These are good socks but there are two problems. First, they shrink and don't reach calf length as shown in the photos. I know wool shrinks but I've had plenty of wool socks in the past and they shrink a lot more than usual. They stretch to fit better so I kept them. I wear above average shoes (size 11) but much larger feet may not be so lucky. Second, although they stretch to still fit snugly, the result of the shrinkage is that they're lower than the photos: a few inches above the ankle. , that's all. For people living in northern climates, this may not be enough. For Texas, they're great. Still worth the money and happy with them but deducted a star due to shrinkage.
