From a distance you would see this perfect looking basket, but up close you can tell it's made out of plastic. Although it's not bad. This plastic thing makes it very flexible which is great because it lasts a long time. The way it has been woven makes it durable and will not fall apart. It claims to be smooth and safe. If you've used a log basket before, you know why - small wood shavings or cracked pieces can cut or puncture your hand. So I roamed it by hand and yes. I don't have to worry about hurting myself on the basket. It is waterproof and dishwasher safe. A very big thing for us. Let's see what happens when we put it in the dishwasher. Updates when it melts or deforms. As it is plastic and not sure how it will fare with UV from the sun. I'm not worried about the heat as it's dishwasher safe, but the sun does magical things. Some of their images are questionable, like the natural material and image of bamboo. Overall we are happy with this purchase. Good value for money.
