How they helped me quickly and without tears and give up the thread

I am a 46 year old female who just had braces. The first week it took me some time to get used to her and all her "friends": ulcers on the inside of my cheek, difficulty eating and avoiding certain foods I had eaten before, and most importantly, the problem of storage My teeth and gums are clean. These platypus flosses helped a lot. I did a lot of research on different orthodontic flossers and finally found these floss along with Oral-B Superfloss, GUM Go Betweens Proxabrushes, a regular floss that I used from time to time with my orthodontist's floss attachment and a 10x magnification mirror Bought . I went from crying trying to brush my teeth to a sigh of relief with a smile when I figured out how to keep my teeth clean. Here's what I think works best: Platypus floss is wonderful, easy to use, and the lightest of all floss in terms of "feel". That means I don't have to look in the mirror to use them. I can easily feel where to place the platypus under the wire between the braces. However, these flosses will NOT work if the braces are very close together. This applies to my premolars and canines. Because my teeth need to move and rotate properly, my orthodontist placed braces on two adjacent teeth (on each side) very, very close together, so Platypus floss doesn't fit between those teeth at all because the space between the braces is too narrow. It doesn't fit at all! In this case, Oral-B Superfloss is my ideal solution. I can easily thread the tiny, narrow, stiff end into dental floss right between the tightest gaps (under the arch). It even works better than the hard needle threader provided by my orthodontist. I wouldn't be able to floss without them. For my premolars and molars and Superfloss and this Platypus floss work almost equally well. Again, platypus flosses work best in the back of the mouth where the brackets are spaced further apart due to the larger molars. I also use GUM Go Betweens here because they are perfect for cleaning packaged food between the braces and around the archwire. Finally, another essential part of my flossing routine is a 10x standing mirror. Before I ordered it from Revain, I couldn't see the back of my mouth where to floss because my jaw is so narrow. It took me both hands to separate my lips and cheek from the floss and I couldn't do it while holding a mirror. Right now, all of these tools make flossing faster and easier! I hope this helps all those frustrated people like me who are struggling with very tight teeth and newly fitted braces and are beginning to believe that effective flossing is not possible. This is not the case if you have the right tools. Don't give up and you will find the best solution for you.
