Good concept but problems

Recently cut the cable. My first try at a local channel was Locast, which I got to use for about three weeks before they shut down shop after a legal battle over their non-commercial status. That was my next try. I was hoping this would work as I missed the option to pause the live stream. I have a 500GB SSD that was plugged into it and recognized fine. But when I connected the antenna that allows my LG CX OLED TV to see 62 channels, it saw 24. The playback was terrible. Also not wireless. My whole house is connected to Cat 6 and I have a gigabit switch in the basement where the network breaks down, but I also have a gigabit switch behind the TV for game consoles and the like. So I first tried placing this in my mains powered bedroom. And nothing but choppy playback and out of sync audio on live streams. Moved it to your entertainment center. Connected to the same switch as the TV and the Fire Cube I was running this from. Same problem, jerky video, severely asynchronous video. I unplugged the cable from the device and plugged it back into the TV - and the channels grew 2 1/2 times again, perfect playback, no gaps, everything is perfectly synced. Bring HDHomerun back into the game and all the problems will come back again. Sorry, I was looking forward to being able to pause the TV and DVR again, but that doesn't work for me at all. I would go insane trying to deal with all the gaps all the time. It updated its firmware when it was first turned on and I opened a web page to make sure everything was up to date. Now I have to find another alternative.
