I had a big presentation and no remote for my new MacBookPro and purchased 3 remotes from 128 dollars, and 44 dollars and bought this one as a back up. The 128 one was so complex, never really could understand it, and the 44 dollar wone was bogus and only worked on old Macs, but they didnt tell you till you talked to tech help for twenty minutes. The day before my presentation this one came in the mail. and I grabbed it as I was headed to the Apple store to buy their external track pad where they had a compex arrangement to hook it up and make it work as a remote, tho it wasnt made for that. And bfore going into the store, I sat in my car in the parking lot and, with a sigh, tested and hooked up this one that I unwrapped from the mail package. Easy-peasy. It worked right away. (I had a usb hookup to the thunderbolt mac port, of course). IT WORKED. I went home and next day flew to Los Angeles for my presentation whre I was a featured speaker. IT WORKED. Flawlessly. Perfectly. At a distance and close. Buy this one.
