The remote pairs easily with the Sony A7C but does not allow the camera to work at all - NONE of the functions work. Most Sony camera owners are aware of Sony's penchant for built-in imaging software. Non-OEM batteries and accessories will not work with their cameras, forcing owners to buy (more expensive) Sony batteries etc. from time to time to time updating the camera with an additional code that changes their algorithms to a new version, blocking third-party batteries and preventing them from working with their products. So obviously later A7C cases will work even less with third-party remotes. Still, my A7C (bought late May 2021) does not work with 2 different non-OEM remotes, although older models seem to work fine with them.
