Build an Ultrabook cooler with one of these fans. Almost every cooling pad I've looked at is too big for my 12.5" Dell laptop, and my Antec Notebook Cooler To Go (released in 2005) eventually failed. This cooler is quiet, I can hear it just above the central air conditioner when the fan is running at low speed. Add some folding fender mounts and it fits in my bag alongside the power bank and trackball. I bought two, but a fan provides enough air movement at low speeds, and if I'm doing high-intensity graphics on the little guy, I can set it to medium or high. It's louder at high altitude, but not to the point where I can't hear my wife and son talking in the living room hallway. The fan sounds evenly, without warbling and jerking. I plan on doing some of the mods that others have pointed out to better seal the fan for more positive airflow. The USB socket is 6 inches away from the fan, the controller (OFF, L, M, H) is only 18 inches away from it, and the plug is 50 inches away from the controller. Only 74 inches or so. It's hard to tug on the cable when the fan is under the computer I'm typing on. Nice long cable for AV/Game power. A bit overkill for my needs, but if I need to hook up a fan to a power supply, I've got the range.
