Review on Sceptre E255B-FWD168 FreeSync DisplayPort Speakers: 165Hz, 1080p, Swivel, Flicker-Free, Tilt & Height Adjustment by Kevin Singh

Revainrating 3 out of 5

An honest test of a budget monitor.

The monitor first caught my attention because of the price and the fact that I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a non-4k monitor. The resolution and quality is great for my new Xbox which is connected with an HDMI 2 cable. The speed and movement is also great as that was the main reason I bought it. The downsides relate to the screen backlight and ease of use. The backlight has some obvious light and dark areas, so it doesn't always stand out. Is it more of a horseshoe shape? Can't say for sure unless you want to improve performance. Which leads to the second minus point, ease of use. The controls are classic, a pain in the ass, don't watch me push the buttons (because mine is stand mounted). You can physically rotate it each time or figure out which buttons do what, but there are two identical strips with a power button in the middle. So take some time to either memorize it, or make a bunch of mistakes to move the adjustment sliders. It would be great to have a remote control for it. Overall the quality is decent for a gaming monitor and it's what you'll be paying for. It has "New Age Streamer/Gamer" rainbow highlights as all games are rainbow colored now lol.
