The HDMI connector on the end of the extender is somehow permanently bonded to the HDMI cable that is attached to my monitor. I put an incredible amount of effort into carefully disconnecting the non-modular HDMI cable from the extender, but it won't budge. I can't turn off the monitor any other way and have to carry this very bulky extension everywhere the display goes. The only possible reason for the cable getting stuck is that the metal has melted. This would require a lot of heat, but there's no other good reason. It got stuck once but I was able to safely pull the cord out, I have to say there was no mark or indication of what caused the cord to get stuck in the extension. Too bad this product is now a bulky tether that follows my display uncontrollably.
