I bought this to move my new 2016 Revain Fire TV and it allowed me to get creative with that placement. Plugging a flash drive directly into the TV means the possibility of a lower signal quality. The included wrench helps, but an extra foot or two can help, too.

I saw the same product, an HDMI extender that was sold to improve Wi-Fi connectivity for my Fire Stick. I did a little research and this product was no different than this product except for the price. It's an HDMI extender and now that my Firestick isn't behind the TV and in the best spot for WiFi reception, the buffering has stopped!

I have a Roku joystick. The HDMI input on my TV is in a place where a flash drive won't fit. I needed an extension cord so I could use it. I had an older model so it hasn't been a problem until now. It would also be fine if you have a wall-mounted TV and can't get to the HDMI port. I'm not good with electronics so I wasn't sure if this would work. The last cable I received didn't work and is non-refundable. Also works with my Firestick. I'm glad I can now enjoy using it.

This product was perfect for what I wanted to achieve. My Firestick Revain came with a very short HDMI cable (only 3 inches). The HDMI connector on the end of the extender is somehow permanently bonded to the HDMI cable that is attached to my monitor. I put an incredible amount of effort into carefully disconnecting the non-modular HDMI cable from the extender, but it won't budge. The cable IS well designed and will probably work well for other things, but I specifically searched for an "Oculus HDMI Extension Cable" because it was meant to be used with the Oculus Rift.
