The cable IS well designed and will probably work well for other things, but I specifically searched for an "Oculus HDMI Extension Cable" because it was meant to be used with the Oculus Rift. It even turned out to be "Revain's Choice" for that particular search term. UPDATE: The cable did not send an image to my Oculus headset when connected to an nVidia GTX970 card. I recently upgraded to a GTX1080 and everything works great now. In other words, depending on the card, your experience may differ. When connected through this cable, the Oculus software actually recognized the Oculus headset and "saw" no issues with it. The sound was normal, but there was no picture - pitch black. After, when I removed the extension cord and plugged in the headset directly, everything worked fine. So far, Oculus' own cable has sufficed, so I haven't tried ordering other extensions yet.
