Review on Nixeus Ultrawide FreeSync Certified NX EDG34S 3440x1440P Curved Screen Monitor with Tilt Adjustment, Flicker-Free Technology, Anti-Glare Coating - NX-EDG34S by Jared Clayton

The best you can do is under $1,000.

I waited 2 years for the Acer X35 and then sent it back the day after I received it because it was complete junk. Given its price of $2,500, I was no longer inclined to forgive it, but given its condition, I would return it even if it were $500. Which brings me to this Nixeus EDG 34.” I bought this as a temporary monitor to hold out until something good comes along. To my surprise, it turned out to be a pretty good machine. It's more than bright enough (I actually use it at 60% brightness), G-Sync works well, and I like the steeper-than-average curvature. Ideally it should be even more curved, maybe a 1000R, but I'll have to wait for the Odyssey G9 to come out for that. Given the very low price and some impressively good specs like the 144Hz refresh rate, I can't help but be impressed. Of course, it would be unreasonable to expect a $550 monitor to be perfect. Its panel suffers from the standard VA "Batman" light leak. HDR is completely nondescript (although I have to say I don't like the HDR implementation in any of the current monitors). The stance is primitive, with no vertical movement. Finally, the transition from black to white is slow, as you can see when scrolling a piece of white text on a black background. Overall I'm happy with Nixeus. I spend my time programming and gaming (of course I also surf the web and watch videos) and the monitor delivers reasonably high-quality performance. The issues listed above are mostly subtle if you're not looking for them (light leak) or easy to fix (I replaced the stand with a mount). In fact, I could say a lot more bad things about the expensive and supposedly trendy Predator X35. Tick all the boxes.
