This product is machine washable; However, when I washed mine, it almost destroyed my washing machine. I followed the washing instructions exactly - cold water, gentle cycle. But as the washing machine spun, the lid snagged and sucked up so much water that my washing machine became so unbalanced that the washing machine literally fell apart. The tie rod holding the tub came loose and several screws fell out, causing the top of the washer to separate from the bottom. It was a mess and it cost me $126 to fix. The mechanic told me that the waterproof cover cannot be washed in new machines that wring out that quickly. I think the manufacturer should have warned about this on the packaging. I would never buy a Safeguard waterproof box spring case again. Honestly I would give zero stars if I could.
