I have had this camera for about a month now. I upgraded from a Canon SD550. The picture quality is very good, the colors are very nice. Although it's harder for me to turn on and scale up compared to my 550. The power button sits almost flush with the camera body, meaning you have to pinch the button with your finger and press firmly to turn it on. The zoom lever is always the perfect size for the mouse! I don't know why they make those buttons so hard to use. I would also prefer the metal body of the 550 to the plastic body of the 990. Despite all this negativity, the photos come out very well. The image stabilization is quite nice. I haven't used face tracking much, but the few times I've had it, it's worked great. I also like the new option for more manual controls. There aren't many options, but you can now choose your aperture and shutter speed, which is a nice feature. 14.7 megapixels should be enough for everyone. I would buy this camera again.
