recommended! Perfect aiming and shooting!

I love this camera. This is perfect for me. I wanted to point and shoot to get good quality footage and it's almost perfect. The size is perfect, very easy to use, even changing settings. I am married to a professional photographer and he is even impressed with the quality. We did it while camping during the high season in North Carolina and the pictures are very impressive. It's a bit slow when shooting, so capturing action shots is tricky, but I've had the chance to experiment with different…

I'm still looking for a good camera

i really like canon products but i think there is something missing with this camera, you can take great pictures in daylight but unfortunately you have to Waiting be very patient for the camera to auto focus at night. IA mode is also pretty dumb when it comes to choosing a subject to focus on. By the way, the latest generation processor could be better. Shooting movies is great. I don't know why it has to be *.MOV, but it doesn't matter in the end. 14.7 MP is more than sufficient, the macro…

Update from SD550

I have had this camera for about a month now. I upgraded from a Canon SD550. The picture quality is very good, the colors are very nice. Although it's harder for me to turn on and scale up compared to my 550. The power button sits almost flush with the camera body, meaning you have to pinch the button with your finger and press firmly to turn it on. The zoom lever is always the perfect size for the mouse! I don't know why they make those buttons so hard to use. I would also prefer the metal…

Canon still leads the compact camera market

As a longtime Canon camera owner for over 30 years the company continues to produce a wide variety of cameras to meet the needs of amateur to meet professionals . A compact, compact, stylish camera with high resolution, bright large screen and easy operation, the SD900IS does its job perfectly. The closest competitors are Nikon CoolPix cameras. If we compare them side by side, I feel like Canon wins. Go to a photo shop and compare directly. Canon has always had a very good frame rate between…

great camera among digital cameras

I'm still getting used to the very small size of this camera and the correct use of all functions. This is my first digital camera. The photos I have taken so far are brilliantly clear and the color reproduction is very real. I tried a candlelight portrait in a dark room and it turned out great. The small size is very convenient because it is always at hand. I bought a hard case for better protection. I didn't try to shoot videos, I have an HD camcorder for that. This is only for an immediate…

This is by far the best point and shoot I've found

I have a bachelor's and master's degree in photography but I don't work with it much. In fact, I took a hiatus from photography as an art form for about 12 years, except for a number of projects about two years ago that I did with my camera phone. I've been waiting for a camera with the qualities of the SD990IS for the last few years. I needed a point and shoot camera that fits in my pocket, has >14MP resolution (with fantastic image quality) and long battery life. This is this camera - it…

Small miracle: digital cameras

Replacing my old Canon with a new Canon was quite a challenge. I researched and researched various websites and finally settled on the SD990. My requirements are simple.point.shoot.print and not for a lot of money! I'm not one to read lengthy instructions and with this camera I don't have to because it's very convenient to use. The software is great. Uploading is easy and there are many ways to modify your photo to make your finished print look great. The camera is so good that you can…

Love this little camera just a few issues with it.

This is a GREAT camera for the beginner photographer. This will really help you learn the different camera settings if you're just switching from point and shoot mode. To be honest, you'd have a really hard time jumping into a loaded Primo cam. My husband is an avid photographer and this was his first big step towards cameras. If you have never used a camera with settings, be sure to read the booklet when you receive it. It's a little hard to understand. I'm not a photographer and yet I don't…

Many functions in a small body

This is my eighth digital camera after Kodak, Canon S50, G5, Sony T5, Canon 20D, 40D. I bought my wife an SD950 last year and we both loved them so I decided to get another one for my bag when I can't carry my bulky 40D with all its lenses etc. This SD990 is a newer model so I bought it without doing too much research. I've been using Canon for many years and figured I couldn't go wrong. Initially I was very surprised by all of its features, especially the manual exposure control mode (although
