They installed in about 6 weeks with no problems. There were some difficulties with a couple of sockets, but with a little patience and skill they can be put in place. Definitely not as bright as the old bulbs, but we wanted it. If your light has less than 6 bulbs, you can order a higher wattage. They were also slightly larger than the originals, but that wasn't a problem in this case. There was no flicker, the light quality is a bit strange, but after a few days it seems normal. The fixture no longer heats up and all six bulbs consume 24 watts compared to 240 watts for halogen bulbs or 216 watts less! Can't comment on durability but fingers crossed they last 20,000 hours or whatever they claim. The instructions also say that if you have flicker, just install 1 or 2 halogen bulbs, which seems like a reasonable compromise.
