My previous camera was a Canon T2i which I have loved for many years. After much research, I recently decided to switch to a mirrorless camera. I chose the Fujifilm X-T1 because I liked the retro design of the camera body and the quality of the lens selection. It is small and light which makes it easy to carry. The bulkiness of the Canon T2i DSLR made it cumbersome to carry around and I took fewer photos as a result. On-camera ISO, shutter speed, exposure and aperture controls make photography more interactive and fun. The dials have good solid metal construction and are comfortable to the touch. The entire body of the camera feels solid in hand. The build quality is just great. I have the camera with an 18-55 kit lens and it's an amazing lens. Compared to the Canon kit lens, the Fuji 18-55mm lens is significantly better. It impresses with image sharpness, f2.8-4 aperture and a solid metal construction. One of the reasons I chose Fujifilm was this lens. When I first tried the camera, I was amazed at the quality of the LCD screen and electronic viewfinder. The electronic viewfinder is quite interesting to look at, but I tend to use the LCD screen more. It's just very practical and allows you to take a quick photo discreetly. I'm really impressed with the camera's low light capabilities. I took photos at night and the pictures turned out very well. Higher ISO's produce very usable images, even at ISO 12800. I'm currently shooting with medium JPEGs and the resulting images are good enough to use. I love how you can customize some of the buttons to your liking. I find myself adapting custom buttons to my shooting style. I haven't used video mode that much as I don't record videos. From what I've seen, it's sufficient. Battery life is decent. I bought some extra batteries just in case. It's small and light, making it less of a hassle to carry around. Image quality and lens selection are excellent. The build quality of the camera is excellent. I love this camera!
