I really like this lamp. I read reviews and saw many complaints about the lamp not getting warm enough. It gets really hot, but you have to be patient and give him time to warm up. I don't use silicone cups because heat transfer is poor. I simply placed the wax melts on top without the silicone cup. The smell of my melted wax has drastically improved after not using silicone cups. If you're worried about how to clean it, just pour the wax into the silicone cup and wipe the base with a thick cloth while the lamp is hot, come out like a charm. The only thing I hate is that I can't set the light to one color and it flickers a bit when changing colors. It's nothing that's going to get on my nerves. I will most likely buy a few more of these. For the money this is very good!
