Who puts switches on sockets?!

My new house had one of those weird sockets with a switch in the living room. Needless to say I never used it for its intended purpose and several well-meaning guests accidentally turned off my stereo while trying to turn on the lights. My first decision was to put one of those little childproof switch covers on it. It worked fine as long as I kept the white cover on the white plate against the white wall. However, this has recently changed. I painted the "silver screen" wall gray to improve the projector's contrast (which worked great), but now I had a white switch on the gray wall. Since I'm going to be replacing the record anyway, I've decided to kill two birds with one stone. Remove the switch to plug in the outlet and you have a beautiful new blank gray panel that blends into the wall. The Leviton plate is made of high-quality plastic with a slightly glossy surface and is supplied with perfectly colour-coordinated screws. This is not super flexible plastic so be careful not to over tighten the screws. That limitation aside, it installs just as quickly and easily as any other wall panel.
