Review on 🚣 CargoLoc 32524 Kayak Storage Straps: Space-Saving Wall Mount Solution by Trey Harvey

I have three of these brackets for mounting kayaks to the garage ceiling. Works great, but the rope breaks easily in the lock. May need to be replaced after prolonged use. I made two modifications for the installation: 1. I installed directly onto the 2x4 and then attached the 2x4 to the ceiling joists with 4 screws (not included). This was required for mounting perpendicular to the ceiling joists as the fasteners are designed to fit directly into the joists and align with the joists. (Note that the 2x4s are perpendicular to the ceiling joists in the picture.) 2. To hoist the kayak as high as possible and free the garage door underneath, I discarded the supplied slings and used tight straps around the kayak. With the slings, the kayaks hung too low to lift the garage door. If you have lifting eyes on a sturdy boat, you can attach the hooks directly.
