Review on πŸ”Œ Kasonic Grounded Outlet Adapter with Indicator by Drew Gengler

Using it can be dangerous!

I use a small heater in my bedroom to warm up the room a few hours before bed while the Ecobee thermostat in the main room hands over control to its remote sensor. (The main room and the bedroom are in the same zone; when using the fireplace, the heating does not turn on, making the bedroom very cold). I don't like leaving the heating on; The previous switch didn't have an LED so I still had to bend down to see if the power was off. It seemed like the perfect choice. The last (and first) weekend was used normally. Last night I smelled a burning/chlorine odor and saw the LED was off even though the switch was on. The switch blew even though the plug is rated for the same 15 amps as the heater and the heater is rated for 1500 watts (max) - less than the 1875 max the switch is rated for. I don't use the Alexa remote switch because the heater's safety feature requires manual activation, but the remote switch indicates the heater is using less than maximum power. While it may just be a faulty switch in the production batch (and happily completely disabled after blowing out), I wouldn't trust this to any heavy appliance - I use another brand with multiple outlets in my kitchen to turn off the toaster, kettle etc. in my kitchen when not in use and I've had no problems with them.
