I haven't had to use a cold compress yet but the warmth on my tummy definitely calms my newborn. The cloth itself is the perfect size for a burp cloth and the towel portion is great for burping. I heat the pouch for 15-20 seconds, put it in my back pocket and place it right under my baby's tummy when he burps. He can get quite fidgety when he's gassy, and this calms him down so he can be more relaxed about getting rid of the gas. I love the idea that we can also use it as a cold pack when we need it. Comes in 2 packs, one I keep in the fridge and the other I use for heating.
