Great sound but no connection

Great sound but two main drawbacks. One of those was a stupid sticker at the top of the feature panel that was almost impossible to remove, and once removed it left a horrible sticky film that was also almost impossible to remove. The second problem is that when you connect it to a Hisense TV you might think it's 100% designed to work together, but surprisingly that's not the case. When you connect to a Hisense TV, it doesn't just turn on and work. You need to go to the TV settings and find the device you want to communicate with and connect to. This is not mentioned in the manual or anywhere else. It took me hours to figure it out as at first I thought it was defective. Also, in order to use the existing Hisense TV remote for volume control, the ARC option on the TV MUST be used via an HDMI cable, or you must use the one that has the soundbar lags. I even tried connecting an optical cable and while it works you MUST again use the remote that came with the faulty soundbar. Finally, the biggest problem, and I still can't figure out how to fix it, is that when a TV show pauses for 10 minutes, the soundbar dies and there's absolutely no way to get the soundbar working again when Don't turn the TV off completely and turn it back on, go back to the service you were using and restart the show from where you left off. It's terrible. Hisense has an option to turn off connected devices after a while to save power, and even with that disabled, this soundbar will still shut down. If anyone knows how to prevent this, I'd love to know. All the above issues aside, this sounds great and has Dolby Surround and 3 very basic sound settings.

Pros
  • Easy to connect
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
