Our daughter is in the 50th percentile for height and weight and the 2T fitted her perfectly when she was 2 years old. She weighs 28 pounds - not much heavier - now that she's 2.5, but we'll get taller when she's 2. when she is 3 years old she will outgrow it. The sleeves are "just" long enough now and she definitely has a slim neckline as always. We bought Bubble Dots, dark blue with a butterfly and ballet pink with foxes and hedgehogs - all very cute, soft, comfortable. Nice quality weight and softness and they wash well. I didn't see any fading as one reviewer commented. A larger size would be helpful as this is a loose fitting sweatshirt.
