I bought this for my son who is starting college in a few days, to hold his laptop inside of his backpack. Backpacks tend to have very little padding and laptops are getting thinner, with thinner screen bezels and overall, more fragile.His backpack says it will fit a 15" laptop and this 14" sleeve fits in the space easily. There's plenty of room inside the sleeve to fit his 14" Lenovo Flex 5. I specifically wanted a sleeve that opened on the end so that it could be left inside the backpack all the time. The canvas material feels durable. The fuzzy interior is soft and won't scratch anything.The choice of interior colors is odd. The tan/brown interior on the gray sleeve kind of clashes. You can see it in one of the photos. It's not a big deal. The zippered exterior pocket should be a little looser so it's easier to stuff your charger cable into it, but it does still fit. The padding around the edges will help prevent damages in many cases, but by itself, it's not going to save your laptop from a even relatively short fall onto concrete or tile, and in some cases (e.g. falling at an angle) it may offer nearly no protection at all just because it doesn't really cover the entire edge of the case.
