Only 30-40 hours of listening time on the device. Installed GE 5654 lamps at power up. My first reaction was that this device affected the sound quality much more than the buffer it replaced which failed. Eliminated height issues with my analytics system, which tends to be more positive, as well as my room, which exacerbates the issue. I have some #6AK5 RCAs that I can replace later if I find any artifacts I don't need. The unit delivers tighter low-mid/high bass that compliments my speakers well, in addition to taming the highs as mentioned. It would be 5 stars if it had a tone control off switch. I am very happy with the device. I have several suggestions for FOSI.1. Provide a buffer with a switch to turn off the sound control.2. Supply SE version with higher quality passive parts along with above 1st and save 20-30$ more upgrade cost. With this edition, you would have kicked the ball out of the park. This combination, along with a good solid state preamp (if you need one) and a solid state amp will give you some of that "tube magic" that many people crave. Get me a few rows closer to the cast and with some "air". Very unexpected but beautiful. One of the reasons I prefer the Tone Control Off switch is because my vinyl doesn't need tone shaping to play, but CD and Pandora streaming require a slight pitch adjustment: down for CDs and slightly up for Pandora. Update 9-10-19 It's 100 hours now. Installed Voshkod lamps instead of GE 5654. About 40 hours on them. They are more dynamic than the GE but have a steeper pitch. However, I like them a lot for jazz and 5654 for classical music. There are also some RCA 6AK5s that I might try in the future. Fosi is great gear.
