This monitor comes with everything you need to connect to your laptop. I really want USB C and A cables to be one, but once you figure out which one you need, you can keep the other. After everything is connected, the monitor turns on. Windows set it up to extend my display, so I changed it so I can watch a movie on it while I work. I'm very impressed with the picture and just as unimpressed with the speaker. The sound, even at maximum volume, is barely audible and weak. No problem, I just set my laptop as the default monitor. This monitor is lightweight, the stand is solid and adjustable to various positions. I wish the HDMI port was on the other side or the cable that came with it was longer. If you always have access to an outlet, this monitor won't disappoint.
