I used this device to measure the weight of a propane tank to determine the daily amount of propane gas used. until today, but are quite consistent in individual measurement series. That means if I weigh the tank three times in a row the results are within 0.1 pounds. However, when I weigh the tank at 8 hour intervals, the second set of readings can be a pound higher than the first. The device might not be the best for this application, but overall it works well, has a good display, and is easy to use.
